Christmas quickly approaching
People tend to set New Year’s resolutions to become healthy once the Christmas festivities have finished but often do so without a support framework around them. However, heading back into everyday life, with the challenges it can present, can often mean people struggle, and these good intentions are left by the wayside. Rather than taking an “all or nothing” approach, adopt small changes that can be maintained during busy everyday life.
Hosting A Party?
This could be by walking your children to school rather than taking the car or setting some time aside to be more active with your children playing in the garden or park. When we lead by example, our children are more likely to adopt healthy habits as they grow up too.
Other ways to incorporate healthy habits into everyday life are to set aside one day to be entirely plant-based or aim to eat at least one new plant-based food each week to diversify your diet, this doesn’t have to be limited to fruit or vegetables but can extend to herbs, spices, nuts, and seeds. There’s plenty of choice.
And if you find that last mince pie tucked away at the back of the cupboard, don’t beat yourself up. Enjoy it with a cup of tea and more on.
